The event Bassons Ungurmuiža-2022 takes place from May 6 to 8. It is an educational professional development project for young bassoonists with the aim of gaining new knowledge and skills in playing the baroque bassoon, and skills in making tongues. In the master class, eight young bassoonists from Latvia and Estonia popularize less frequently performed compositions by Jānis Ķepītis for bassoon in solo and ensemble, promoting the international availability of Latvian music. There are three bassoon specialists from Latvia, Estonia and Belgium in the master class. The selection criteria for musicians for participation in the master class were the achievements of young people in the international competition Dubultmēlīši Festival in Riga (2018-2021). The young bassoonists represent three professional music schools: Emīls Dārziņš Music School and Pāvuls Jurjāns Music School in Rīga, Georg Ots Music School in Tallinn. The project is supported by the SCCF.
